[This topic is pre-release documentation and is subject to change in a future release. Blank topics are included as placeholders.]

With Deep Zoom Composer, all it takes is a few simple steps to share your Deep Zoom images with others:

Four steps to using Deep Zoom Composer
  1. Create a new project.

  2. Add images to your project.

  3. Arrange images into a composition.

  4. Export and publish.

For more information about the underlying technology in Deep Zoom Composer, see Welcome to Deep Zoom Composer.

Deep Zoom Composer contains three main workspaces that present a general workflow. To switch workspaces, click the Import button Dd409094.bc2934ea-062b-41b6-930a-ec7ae8364e8b(en-us,Expression.10).png, Compose button Dd409094.a942460f-aa6c-4f8e-8660-875e053c644e(en-us,Expression.10).png, or Export button Dd409094.d86410ca-d5a8-4c19-b6e6-551a405603f4(en-us,Expression.10).png at the top of the application window.

The Deep Zoom Composer workspaces
  1. Workspace buttons   Click one of these buttons to switch between workspaces:

    • Import workspace   The Import workspace is where you add images to your project. This workspace allows you to see the entire gallery of images that you've imported into your project, and also preview individual images in the gallery.

    • Compose workspace   The Compose workspace is where you create and edit compositions using the images you added in the Import workspace. This workspace provides you with a design area to position, resize, and arrange images. You can also quickly create a panoramic photo or arrange your images into a grid using this workspace.

    • Export workspace   The Export workspace is where you do your final preparations before sharing and viewing your Deep Zoom Composer compositions. This workspace allows you to create photo albums that you can upload and share with others, or to export your composition as an image directory, Microsoft Silverlight 2 content, or Seadragon Ajax content. For more information about Silverlight 2 and Seadragon Ajax, see Exporting a composition.

  2. Artboard   The artboard is the design area within the Compose workspace, and the preview area within the Import and Export workspaces.

  3. Image gallery   The image gallery within the Import and Compose workspaces shows all the images that you've added to your project.

  4. Keyhole navigator   Use the keyhole navigator to pan, or move around, the Compose workspace.

  5. Toolbar   The toolbar provides basic selection and navigation tools, in addition to arrangement options.

  6. PhotoZoom tab   The PhotoZoom tab within the Export workspace provides options for managing PhotoZoom albums. You can create new albums, change existing albums, and then publish those albums to the PhotoZoom site.

  7. Custom tab   The Custom tab within the Export workspace provides additional export options, including the option to export your composition as Silverlight 2 or Seadragon Ajax content.
