Title/Product:
Program Manager, Expression Web

What inspires you?
Felines, Aircraft, Nature, and Technology

How did you choose to work on this team with this product?
I joined the team as a Program Manager intern on Expression Web during the summer of 2007. When I saw how passionate the Expression Web team was about building a next-generation, standards-compliant web design tool, I knew that I had to be involved.

What’s your favorite feature? Why?
PHP support in Expression Web 2 is great. We support PHP code snippets, code coloring, Intellisense, and when you preview the page, we’ll even invoke PHP to render the page if it’s installed on the system.

How long have you been a Microsoftie?
Officially, five months. I’ve worked with or for Microsoft in varying roles (Independent Contractor, Security Consultant, Writer, Intern) since 2005.

What does your typical workday look like?
Our team is very focused on customer research. Several times a month we are off site conducting usability or research studies into how people build web sites. When I’m not off site, I typically split my time running in between meetings with our product team, interacting with other product teams at Microsoft, and working with our developers and testers. Sometimes I’m hardly ever at my computer!

How do you like to spend your time outside of work?
I enjoy outdoors activities like hiking and cycling. I also love aviation and travelling.
