Inside Expression - Ed Meadows

Ed Meadows

Name:

Title/Product:
Sr. Product Manager, Expression Web

What inspires you?
My family and friends, the at-risk teenagers that I mentor, my team here at work (really!), and last but not least, the work that my customers create with Expression Web.

How did you choose to work on this team with this product?
I’ve worked on and been passionate about authoring tools most of my career and have always enjoyed the work that my customers created with my products. I’d been tracking Expression Web since it was but a gleam in someone’s eye and I dogged the Expression marketing team until they hired me.

What’s your favorite feature? Why?
I actually have two favorites: 1) SuperPreview for IE, because it saves so much time migrating sites to IE8, and 2) the CSS properties palette, which saves a bunch of time by visually displaying the CSS cascade, helping diagnose problems with CSS rules and properties.

How long have you been a Microsoftie?
Seven years this fall.

What does your typical workday look like?
Varies wildly, but generally consists of meetings with all sorts of folks, promoting Expression Web inside and outside of Microsoft, and creating a raft of marketing content to get the word out.

How do you like to spend your time outside of work?
I like to volunteer, garden, spend time with my friends & family, restore old cars, and play with my macaw, Oscar.
