Expression Blend 2 Trial

Mix design elements like video, vector art, high quality text, animation, pixel images, and 3D content with a full toolbox of advanced controls and containers to create engaging, cinematic user interfaces. Think of it as your virtual playground.

Blend 2 supports creating content for .NET 3.5 and Silverlight 1.0.  It installs side-by-side with other versions of Blend, including the Blend 2.5 June 2008 Preview.

Expression Blend and Expression Blend 2 do not support the .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 Beta, and will not work on machines updated with the Beta service pack. Please use Expression Blend 2.5 June 2008 Preview if you are testing the .NET Framework 3.5 SP 1 Beta. All versions of Expression Blend will support Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 when it is released later this year.

Expression Blend 2.5 June 2008 Preview

The Blend 2.5 June Preview has added support for flexible authoring of Silverlight 2 Beta 2 projects. Building on previous releases, the June Preview provides designers with even more control over the visual and interaction design for rich interactive web applications.

What's New:

  • Silverlight 2 Beta content authoring support.
  • Control Skinning offers designers the ability to edit templates for customizing controls, or to create new templates from scratch for complete expressive freedom and component reusability.
  • Visual State Manager gives designers the power to precisely specify how each element of a control looks and behaves in each state of the interaction model, including transitions.

Please use Expression Blend 2.5 June 2008 Preview if you are testing the .NET Framework 3.5 SP 1 Beta

To continue using Expression Blend 2.5 Preview and Visual Studio to create and edit Silverlight 2 projects you will also need to update your Silverlight Tools to the latest release that targets the Silverlight 2 Beta 2. This updated version of Silverlight tools is compatible with Silverlight 2 Beta 2 projects and the .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 Beta runtime.

 

Deep Zoom Composer

Deep Zoom Composer allows you to quickly import your own images, arrange and position them to your liking, and export the final output as either a Deep Zoom Image or Collection that can be fed into Silverlight's MutliScaleImage control.

Updated for compatibility with Silverlight 2 Beta 2.
